The closest thing to a hummingbird that I have ever seen. The Grapevine Hawk Moth. Those wings seem to be moving at supersonic speeds. 1/2500 was not enough to stop the wings in motion. Given half a chance again I'd instantly go to 1/5000 or even 1/8000 th, to freeze the motion. On top of that, the moth is only at a spot for a second or two, then it flies off to the next flower. Thus it is extraordinarily difficult to lock onto it long enough to get a sharp image. Then, the rather unusual fact that it was feeding in daylight, they seem to prefer the night time usually. One very rare capture.
